What is Strengths Leadership Coaching?

Strengths coaching is a counter-intuitive approach to personal and team development backed by more than 75 years of research by Gallup with measurable outcomes. It focuses on building each other’s strengths while managing weaknesses.

It presumes that:

  • Only some behaviors can be learned (i.e. skills and knowledge)
  • The best in a role deliver the same outcomes using different behaviors
  • Weakness fixing prevents failure
  • Strengths building leads to success.

Through feedback and guidance, clients gain knowledge and understanding of their strengths, plus a deeper perspective of themselves that result in greater self-esteem and self-awareness. Managers and teams gain greater insights into their colleagues’ talents and strengths and an appreciation of the value those bring to the workplace. This results in better communication, productivity, trust and stability.

The Four Quadrants of Leadership…Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building, and Strategic Thinking each brings a facet to leadership that is powerful when utilizing your unique talents and strengths.

The CliftonStrengths® Assessment measures the presence of talents in 34 general themes that everyone possess, and is a starting point for self-knowledge. It also is the beginning of a process to focus or refocus your strengths, and productively aim them toward particular goals and/or challenges both personally and professionally.

Strengths Leadership Coaching

Through Strengths coaching, team members will discover and understand their talent themes and how they manifest into strengths, how to build upon their strengths with a step-by-step process, how to manage their weaknesses, and learn the strengths of their fellow team members and how to utilize and partner with their colleagues’ strengths.

Participants will also learn how talents and strengths drive a person’s behavior and accomplishments, how strengths play a pivotal role in core values, engagement, and team dynamics, and how to appreciate the four domains of talent.
